Course Description

This course is designed to prepare the participant for the ANCC Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Exam. This concentrated review will focus on the key aspects of caring for patients with cardiac and vascular disease across the spectrum of care. Included is a review of cardiac anatomy and physiology, risk factors and risk reduction strategies and professional aspects of caring for this patient population. Participants will also complete review questions to prepare them for the types of questions that will be on the exam, as well as test-taking strategies.

  • Demonstrate the requisite knowledge required in order to be successful on the ANCC Cardiac-Vascular Nursing Exam.

Alitha D. Jones has 25 years of experience in healthcare. She graduated from the University of Texas School of Nursing in December 2009 (BSN). She later completed the MSN-Educator program via the University of Texas-Arlington in December 2016 and the MSN Dual Track in Advanced Practice with the cardiovascular subspecialty via the University of South Alabama’s College of Nursing in May 2019. She currently holds four national board certifications. Alitha also holds various subspecialty roles as a faculty, course director, and/or instructor for BLS, ACLS, PALS (via both American Heart Association and the American Red Cross), NRP, ENPC & TNCC (both via ENA), and ATLS.

 

Alitha is also a member of the Moorland YMCA at Oak Cliff Board YMCA Board of Managers in Dallas, Texas. She serves as a mentor for individuals across various healthcare sectors. She has worked in critical care (ICU & ED) for the last 14 years. She is a humanitarian at heart.  As Maya Angelou once stated, "When you learn, teach; when you get, give".

Sign-in begins at 7:30 am. The day includes a one-hour lunch (on your own), as well as a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each. The order of lectures presented and break times may vary according to speaker preference.

First-come, first-served street parking, visitor parking in purple ramp, employees can utilize parking options per usual.

Walk-In Fee

As long as space is available, you can register the day of the seminar with an additional walk-in fee of $15. Please note that only cash, money orders, credit cards and hospital checks are accepted at the door. Personal checks are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing or by phone up to 14 days prior to the seminar will receive a Full Refund. A 10% processing fee will be charged for refunds requested less than 14 days prior to the seminar. Cancellation fee will be waived for tuition transferred to another seminar or if applied to Self-Study products. In the rare event that MED-ED must cancel, MED-ED’s liability is limited to tuition.
