This two-day course is designed to provide the critical-care and progressive care healthcare provider with a review of AACN’s core curriculum. The instructor will lecture on anatomy, physiology, physical assessment, hemodynamics in a systems approach. Topics discussed include cardiac, respiratory, neurological, renal, endocrine, hematological, gastrointestinal, psychological, shock and the synergy model. This review is not an introduction but a comprehensive update for the professional already in practice at the critical-care or progressive care bedside and preparing for the CCRN or PCCN examinations.
· After completing the program, 80% of participants will report an increase in knowledge and confidence necessary to pass the certification exam.
This program prepares the learner to:
· Discuss and practice test-taking skills.
· Review critical-care nursing assessment skills, both noninvasive and invasive.
· Review critical anatomy, physiology and pathophysiology of each adult system.
· List and discuss appropriate diagnostic tools for the identification of critical-care complications.
· Analyze patient conditions and devise current evidence-based treatment protocols.

Terry has nearly 30 years of experience in caring for the critically ill patient in various specialty areas that include cardiovascular medicine and surgery, neuro, pulmonary, renal and trauma care. In addition to teaching the CCRN Certification review course, he has provided continuing education classes on several topics that include 12-Lead interpretation, ABGs and ventilators, radiographic interpretation essentials, hemodynamics, Rapid Response teams, neurological and neurosurgical care. Terry is a member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and the Association of Nursing Professional Development (ANPD). He is able to make the most difficult concepts easy to understand by the beginner as well as the advanced practitioner and is best known as a master clinician and dynamic speaker who uses humor and real-life situations to give his topics meaning and depth.
