Course Description

This course is a review of emergency nursing designed to assist the participant in successfully obtaining CEN certification. The course offers lectures, graphics, videos and practice questions in many of the areas that are tested on the CEN Exam. This review will provide not only a knowledge base for successfully completing the exam, but also a foundation for further study as the participant works towards emergency nursing certification. 

Key Learning Outcome

  • After completing the program, 80% of participants will report an increase in knowledge and confidence necessary to pass the certification exam.

Margaret "Peggy" Allard, MSN, RN Related Seminars and Products


Peggy is the owner of Allard and Associates, LLC, a consulting service on legal and health benefits. She has 35 years’ experience in the healthcare industry, from providing direct patient care to managing a healthcare facility as the CEO. As a civilian RN and naval officer, she has worked in large medical centers, community hospitals and clinics. Throughout her naval career she was active in staff education, a featured speaker at seminars and the primary educator for the staff coronary care course.

As a legal nurse, Peggy uses her expertise to review and analyze medical records in cases involving healthcare litigation. She has seen first-hand how nursing documentation can directly impact the outcome of a case and the advantages and challenges associated with the use of the electronic medical record. She has a diploma in nursing from Thomas Jefferson University School of Nursing in Philadelphia and bachelor’s and master’s degrees in nursing administration from Marymount University in Arlington, VA. She also holds a certificate in legal nurse consulting and is a member of the American Association of Legal Nurse Consultants and is licensed in South Carolina.

The Day Of

Sign-in begins at 7:30 am. The day includes a one-hour lunch (on your own), as well as a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each. The order of lectures presented and break times may vary according to speaker preference.

Walk-In Fee

As long as space is available, you can register the day of the seminar with an additional walk-in fee of $15. Please note that only cash, money orders, credit cards and hospital checks are accepted at the door. Personal checks are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing or by phone up to 14 days prior to the seminar will receive a Full Refund. A 10% processing fee will be charged for refunds requested less than 14 days prior to the seminar. Cancellation fee will be waived for tuition transferred to another seminar or if applied to Self-Study products. In the rare event that MED-ED must cancel, MED-ED’s liability is limited to tuition.
