Course Description

This two-day seminar is designed to prepare the cardiac medical and cardiac surgical nurse to take the AACN
certification exam for cardiac medicine and/or surgery. The course focuses on adult cardiac abnormalities with a concentration on nursing assessment and medical/surgical interventions. Coronary artery disease, acute coronary syndrome, heart failure and endocarditis will be the major topics of discussion, with related medical and surgical interventions. The review will also include a brief review of pulmonary, hematology, neurology and gastrointestinal and renal systems as they pertain to the cardiac patient.

Cammy is an internationally known speaker with over 45 years of critical care experience. She has taught the CCRN® Exam Review as well as critical care updates with an emphasis on the critical thinking skills of the bedside practitioner. In addition to lecturing across the globe, Cammy is a reviewer for several revered nursing journals and has numerous publications in the area of critical care. Cammy has recently retired as an acute care nurse practitioner at the University of Florida, Division of Critical Care Medicine/Surgery. As a critical care nurse practitioner, Cammy brings many clinical practice skills to her lectures as well as providing clinical pearls for bedside care.

The Day Of

Sign-in begins at 7:30 am. The day includes a one-hour lunch (on your own), as well as a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each. The order of lectures presented and break times may vary according to speaker preference.

Walk-In Fee

As long as space is available, you can register the day of the seminar with an additional walk-in fee of $15. Please note that only cash, money orders, credit cards and hospital checks are accepted at the door. Personal checks are not accepted.

Cancellation Policy

Cancellations received in writing or by phone up to 14 days prior to the seminar will receive a Full Refund. A 10% processing fee will be charged for refunds requested less than 14 days prior to the seminar. Cancellation fee will be waived for tuition transferred to another seminar or if applied to Self-Study products. In the rare event that MED-ED must cancel, MED-ED’s liability is limited to tuition.
