This two-day course is designed to provide nurses with the tools, confidence and knowledge to successfully complete the Medical-Surgical Nursing Exam. The exam content outlines and blueprints from the ANCC and MSNCB were used to develop this program. Topics covered from the exam content outlines will include: review of body systems, cardiac, pulmonary, neurologic, gastrointestinal, renal, genitourinary, reproductive, endocrine, hematologic, musculoskeletal, immune and more. Pathophysiology of disease processes including signs and symptoms and treatment modalities will be presented. The nursing process and nursing practice roles in the management of patient care will be discussed through case scenarios and sample questions. All aspects of the Practice Domains will be addressed at the end of Day 2 and strategies for test-taking will also be covered.

Dr. Lori Bailey has served in the critical and acute care environments for nearly 20 years. She has worked at the bedside as an educator and in a supervisory role. She has a broad range of experiences and uses the stories of her experience in the classroom. Currently, Lori can be found in a busy CICU in Spokane, WA.
Lori is a long-time member of the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN) and has served as a CE article reviewer, past chapter president (Emerald Coast Chapter) and as AACN ambassador. She is also active in Sigma Theta Tau and the National League for Nursing. She holds critical care, medical/surgical and nurse educator certifications and a PhD in nursing education from the University of Northern Colorado.
Lori’s passion is education. She has taught in various nursing programs and enjoys traveling to help nurses prepare for certification. Lori’s peers have found her to be an engaging speaker with the ability to make even the most complex concepts manageable.
