Course Description

This program provides a comprehensive review of oncology nursing practice in preparation for the OCN Exam administered by the Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC). The review will provide content and practice questions reflective of the current OCN Exam content outline. This course is intended for the practicing oncology nurse with a minimum of two years experience and four years of nursing practice. This is not an introductory course to teach the basics in oncology nursing practice.

Key Learning Outcome

• After completing the program, 80% of participants will report an increase in knowledge and confidence necessary to pass the certification exam.

Program Objectives

This program prepares the learner to:

• Identify resources to successfully prepare for the OCN Exam.
• Enhance knowledge of oncology diagnoses, interventions and associated patient education.
• Identify common oncologic emergencies and evidence-based interventions.
• Describe the psychosocial assessment and nursing interventions to providing quality care for patients and caregivers.

Sign-in begins at 7:30 am. Each day includes a one-hour lunch (on your own), as well as a morning and afternoon break of 15 minutes each. The order of lectures presented and break times may vary according to speaker preference.
