This course is designed to broaden and deepen the critical care and/or emergency medicine nurse’s knowledge and application of pharmacologic treatment principles. This course is designed to build a strong foundation of critical under-standing of pharmacokinetic basics that can be applied to all drugs. The course will then explore common conditions found in critical patient populations with an emphasis on pharmacologic management.

Dr. William Heuser is a triple board-certified clinical pharmacist in emergency medicine, critical care and nutrition support. He currently serves as the director of basic science courses, including clinical pharmacology and physiology, where he integrates foundational science with real-world clinical application in his role as professor. His multifaceted background uniquely bridges the gap between prehospital and hospital-based care, stemming from his experience as a critical-care flight paramedic and extensive clinical practice in high-acuity environments.
Dr. Heuser has a passion for education and has served as a keynote speaker and faculty member at numerous national and regional conferences, where he lectures on a variety of advanced pharmacotherapy and critical care topics. His expertise in delivering high-yield, practice-changing education makes him a sought-after speaker and consultant.
