The course involves a review of all criteria on the ANCC PMH-BC board exam. Multiple teaching modalities are utilized, including case studies, PowerPoint, practice test questions and discussions, as well as a medication color-coordinated chart. The course is taught over two days.

Kim has 35 years of nursing experience, with over 30 years in the women's health and perinatal arenas. She is certified in women's health, inpatient obstetrics, fetal monitoring and maternal newborn nursing. Additionally, Kim is a national, AWHONN-designated fetal monitoring instructor for both intermediate and advanced programs. She is a nurse planner and has created programs for neonatal, obstetrical and women's health topics, presenting throughout the country.
Kim has worked in Level I and Level III institutions, along with providing women's health services in both the private office and public health settings. Kim is on staff at Poling Law in Columbus, OH, as their obstetrical and woman's health legal nurse consultant, working with attorneys across the country on legal issues.
Lisa is an associate professor and the associate director of the baccalaureate nursing program at Iowa Wesleyan University in Mount Pleasant. For 20 years, she has taught psychiatric-mental health nursing, focusing on both the theory and clinical aspects of coursework. She has been a psychiatric staff nurse for over 30 years at the University of Iowa Hospitals & Clinics in Iowa City, where she has been awarded for nursing education excellence. In this setting, she is involved in leadership committees and the nurse residency program, achieving gold level status for its professional nursing recognition program. Lisa has also functioned in the ARNP role at Optimae LifeServices in Mount Pleasant for nearly 20 years. In addition, she has served as president and board member for the Iowa chapter of the American Psychiatric Nurses Association (APNA) and has presented on its behalf at the state and national levels.
