Course Description

The purpose of this seminar is to provide clinical nurses with the concepts, strategies and tools to become effective charge nurses and managers. Advanced critical thinking, managing a complex and diverse workforce and becoming a transformational leader will be addressed. Many nurses today find themselves in positions of leadership because they excelled clinically. However, little has been done to help today’s nursing leader manage the challenges of today’s changing healthcare system and workforce. This seminar will address key ideas and strategies so that these new nursing leaders will thrive and find new passion in their work. 

Program Learning Outcomes

This program prepares the learner to:

  • Define and develop their own leadership style.
  • Describe the process of leading change in an organization.
  • Review relevant laws and regulations that impact nursing care.
  • Describe strategies for woarking with multiple generations in the workplace.

Kevin is a highly experienced emergency nurse with over 15 years of experience in nursing education and leadership. He has extensive experience in pediatric and adult emergency as well as trauma care and has managed various programs both in and out of the hospital setting. Currently, Kevin serves as an administrator on duty for a community hospital in El Paso, TX.

With a strong passion for continuing education and sharing knowledge, Kevin is dedicated to the advancement of the nursing profession. Kevin is an active member of the Emergency Nurses Association (ENA) at both the state and national levels. He was recently recognized for his contributions to emergency nursing education and community building and was inducted into the prestigious Academy of Emergency Nursing (AEN).

Kevin is an engaging speaker and presenter, and he regularly shares his insights as a speaker at conferences around the world.
