This two-day course is designed to provide nurses with the tools, confidence and knowledge to successfully complete the Medical-Surgical Nursing Exam. The exam content outlines and blueprints from the ANCC and MSNCB were used to develop this program. Topics covered from the exam content outlines will include: review of body systems, cardiac, pulmonary, neurologic, gastrointestinal, renal, genitourinary, reproductive, endocrine, hematologic, musculoskeletal, immune and more. Pathophysiology of disease processes including signs and symptoms and treatment modalities will be presented. The nursing process and nursing practice roles in the management of patient care will be discussed through case scenarios and sample questions. All aspects of the Practice Domains will be addressed at the end of Day 2 and strategies for test-taking will also be covered.

He is a healthcare executive with more than 12 years of progressive leadership experience in coordination of patient care, quality, efficiency improvement and managing clinical operations with fiscal responsibility. He has expertise in managing a diverse staff of healthcare professionals, demonstrating effectiveness in team building and managing medical staff relations, recruitment and employee engagement.
In his leadership and clinical roles, he continually establishes standards of safety and operational efficiencies along with ensuring quality patient care. Though he is a leader at work, he is an educator at heart, working as an independent certified speaker, coach and teacher. He is also executive vice president of the San Antonio Indian Nurses Association, holds 6 national certifications and loves to teach nurses strategies for certification. Sam is also a TeamSTEPPS master trainer for the Department of Defense. He received his bachelor’s degree in nursing and MBA in India and is pursuing a DNP from Capella University.
