Cameron Mitchum, MSN, RN, CCRN
Cameron has been an ICU nurse for more than 30 years. She graduated from Albemarle College in 1979 and completed her MSN in Critical Care Nursing in 1995 at the Medical University of South Carolina with a subspecialty in geriatric trauma.
Cameron has worked in a variety of ICUs and has extensive nursing experience in trauma and cardiac care nursing. She has published in numerous peer reviewed journals with a special interest in nursing orientation and mentorship. In addition, she is a past reviewer for AACN’s Procedures Manual. She started her own company which developed health instruction curriculum for the employee health departments at major corporations in Virginia. Cameron has presented topics at numerous national, state and local nursing conferences.
After teaching both graduate and undergraduate nursing courses, she became an adjunct clinical instructor at Trident Technical College in South Carolina. For the past 22 years she has worked at the Medical University of South Carolina, where she is currently the Clinical Educator in the Surgical Trauma Intensive Care Unit.
