Deana Thomas, EdD, MSN, BSN
Deana presently serves as director of organizational development for Grand Strand Medical Center in Myrtle Beach, S.C. Dr. Thomas graduated from UNC-Greensboro with both her BSN and MSN (geriatric clinical specialist). She earned her doctorate in education from N.C. State University with a focus on human resource development and organizational development. In 2011, Dr. Thomas was recognized as one of the Great 100 Nurses in North Carolina. She has held a variety of staff and leadership positions within acute care, LTC, outpatient endoscopy, oncology and home health. For over 3 years, Dr. Thomas worked as the senior director of human resources and organizational development and presently serves on the American Society for Healthcare Human Resources Administration (p of the American Hospital Association). Dr. Thomas has a passion for continuous learning, coaching and consulting. She is a certified health coach, certified in Just Culture, a Lean facilitator and has received certificates in nursing education and health literacy from UNC-Chapel Hill.
