Deborah Tran, DNP, RN, CNRN, SCRN, NE-BC
Dr. Tran has been a nurse for nearly 20 years with her major focus in critical care, neuroscience, cardiovascular care, administration and education. She works as a neuroscience program manager at Texas Health Dallas and as an adjunct faculty member at Grand Canyon University’s nursing program, where she obtained her DNP. She is board certified in stroke, neuroscience and as a nurse executive.
Dr. Tran also serves as president of the Dallas area chapter of the American Association of Neuroscience Nurses (AANN) and on AANN’s clinical practice guidelines editorial board. Her most recent publications include five of the modules for Emergency Neuro Life Support and the 3rd edition of the ANA/AANN Scope and Standards of Practice of Neuroscience Nursing. Her areas of research include posterior stroke identification and grading, and she has created her own copyrighted stroke identification tool. She is currently working on a tool to grade posterior strokes for acute treatment. She volunteers extensively for multiple nursing organizations and has worked in rural to large urban facilities in multiple states, drawing on this experience to present on patients through the care continuum.
