Derrick Rodriguez, MSN, RN, CCRN, CMSRN
Derrick has over 15 years of experience caring for patients in the acute care setting. His 10 years of critical care practice at the bedside included medical-surgical, neurological, cardiovascular and step-down units.
He spent nearly 10 years working at Vanderbilt University Medical Center, Ascension Health’s St. Thomas West Hospital and Tristar Skyline Medical Center. Derrick’s experiences also include nursing leadership. He is currently the clinical education specialist for a major trauma center in northern New Jersey. He is a member of multiple nursing specialty organizations including the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses (AACN), Academy of Medical-Surgical Nurses (AMSN) and the Association for Nursing Professional Development (ANPD). Derrick is double-board certified in critical care nursing and medical-surgical nursing. He is passionate about education, values lifelong learning for clinicians and enjoys travelling around the country helping nurses prepare for specialty certification examinations.
