Lashea Haynes, MEd, MSN, RNC, C-EFM


Lashea has been practicing in the area of obstetrical nursing for over 20 years. Her clinical and educational experience and expertise span labor/delivery, antepartum and mother/baby areas. She is currently working as the clinical nurse specialist for women’s services at a large health system in Georgia. She is also a designated trainer in fetal monitoring instruction through AWHONN. Lashea holds two certifications through NCC and currently provides in-services and seminars nationally. She is passionate about saving the lives of mothers and babies and has the privilege of sitting on Georgia’s Maternal Mortality Review Committee.

In addition, Lashea is an active AWHONN member, elected as Georgia Section Chair for two consecutive terms. She is on the National AWHONN Membership Committee, National AWHONN 2019 Conference Committee and serves as the state AIMS representative. Lashea was a recent recipient of the Fetal Heart Monitoring Instructor Recognition Award program and was appointed to the Georgia Postpartum Hemorrhage Project. She was selected as the lead facilitator in the state of Georgia to assist with the rising rate of maternal deaths. Lashea’s expertise in this area is demonstrated in her most recent award: Georgia’s March of Dimes Nurse of the Year for Women’s Health and recipient of the 2015 AWHONN Award of Excellence in Community Service. Lashea is a fun, energetic speaker, who fully engages the audience in her presentations, leaving them excited and ready to learn more.
