Lynda Ball, MSN, RN, CNN


Lynda has been a nephrology nurse for 28 years and nationally certified for 21 years. She earned her BSN from Penn State University and her MSN in Education from Walden University. She is a member of the American Nephrology Nurses’ Association (ANNA), the National Kidney Foundation (NKF), the American Association of Kidney Patients (AAKP) and the Association of Vascular Access (AVA) and the Vascular Access Societies of the Americas (VASA). She served six years on the Board of Directors of ANNA as the Western Regional Vice President and is National Secretary for 2012-2014.

Lynda is a national and international speaker on vascular access and quality improvement. She has chaired the national nephrology nurse certification review course annually for the last eight years at the ANNA national symposiums and teaches the hemodialysis portion of the review. She has presented at several certification review courses for local ANNA chapters in Ohio, Texas, California and Washington.

Lynda has worked in all modalities, including the Quality Improvement Director for the End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) Network 16, nephrology case manager and provider educator. She is currently the national Vascular Access Specialist for Fresenius Medical Care – North America. She was also an instructor at a technical college hemodialysis technician program for five years. She has published over 30 articles on vascular access, quality improvement and disaster preparedness in various peer-reviewed nursing and physician journals, and won two education writing awards from the Nephrology Nursing Journal in 2006 and 2009. She is a member of the Editorial Board for the Nephrology Nursing Journal.
