Otto Kernberg, MD
Otto F. Kernberg, MD, is a psychiatrist, psychoanalyst, and Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry at Weill Cornell Medical College. He is widely known for his contributions to object relations theory, borderline personality organization, narcissistic pathology, and transference-focused psychotherapy. Kernberg has served as Director of the Personality Disorders Institute at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital, Westchester Division, and is a Training and Supervising Analyst at the Columbia University Center for Psychoanalytic Training and Research. He is a past president of the International Psychoanalytic Association and the author or co-author of more than 20 books on psychoanalysis, personality disorders, and psychotherapy.
